As part of Al-Kindi Society’s strategic decision-making body, you’ll help to steer how we deliver value to the Society and the wider community.

The Board of Trustees are responsible for setting Al-Kindi Society’s high-level strategy. This is central to meeting the challenges the community is facing in these uncertain economic times and maintaining our leading voice on the importance of engineers within the community and the engineering best practice we promote.

* The Executive Director is an ex-officio member of the Board of trustees with no voting rights.

Terms of service

Each new Trustee serves for three years and one third (or the number nearest to one third) of the trustees retire by rotation each year.  The board of Trustees meets a minimum of four times a year.

The Management Committee members, are the team of volunteers that runs the day to day affairs of the society based on an agreed strategy and annual plan. The Management Committee meets on regular basis and each committee member is envisaged to volunteer approximately 3-5 hours per week.
