Al-Kindi Society is delighted to be teaming up with the Iraqi Welfare Association to bring you the Festival of Science and Engineering, an event held during the British Science Week to provide members of the Community in North London with the opportunity to explore and discuss issues of scientific interest and raise aspirations by encouraging young people to consider a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
The Al-Kindi STEM ambassadors will be organising talks, interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities to promote STEM careers. The Activities are planned to cater for young aspiring school aged students, their parents and those who are interested in the engineering profession. There is sure to be something for everyone.
As part of the programme Al-Kindi Society will be unveiling the details of the Competition for School aged students both in the Primary stage and secondary stage. A representative from UKSpace will also be in attendance to talk about the UK Space Agency’s competition, “Astro-Pi” which will be see the winners from the UK wide competition, have their application code running on a Raspberry Pi at the International Space Station (ISS) operated by British Astronaut Tim Peak.
