Al-Kindi Employment Workshop
Al-Kindi has committed itself to support its members in all possible ways, the Society’s most recent effort is to support its unemployed members to get back to the industry and enjoy the career path that they desire . On the 13th of February, Al-kindi has carried out its first Employment support workshop, Kindi members of diverse engineering backgrounds have attended the workshop coming from many different parts within the UK.
Support and advice were given By Dr. Alaa Alani (Al-Kindi President, Telecommunications Project Manager), Mr. Eihab Al-Nakib (EC Member, SharePoint and Web Systems Analyst) and Mr. Sajaad Al-Hairi (Al-Kindi Secretary, Regeneration Manager).
Delegates who attended the workshop were given one-on-one interviews to understand their individual needs. We felt this practice was very useful and successful, and allowed us to:
· Get to know the applicants on an individual level.
· Understand their particular needs and the career options they desire.
· Review each applicant's CV and provide advice on how it can be improved.
Al-Kindi members who attended the workshop expressed their satisfaction with this effort and thanked the society for taking such measures and recommended that we continue in this direction. Towards the end of the workshop there were also some useful discussions between EC members and Kindi members regarding other general aspects of the society’s work.
